Of course, you have a machine that allows you to use quality espresso beans that you grind yourself. If your machine will only accept pre-packaged pods, the resulting brew will be at least somewhat stale, and probably thin and bitter. No true coffee lover uses pre-ground coffee packed in cans, so why would you use pre-packaged espresso?
Because the water is forced through the ground coffee by pressure rather than by gravity, espresso is thicker, richer and more intense than regular coffee. Every flavor nuance is intensified, so it's especially important to use premium beans.
